A STORY OF TRANSFORMATION OF PASTOR MAHIKA JOSEPHAT RWESORORO BAPTIST CHURCH, KASESE BAPTIST ASSOCIATION (AS WRITTEN BY THE PASTOR)
Pastor Mahika Josephat. This is my own experience on CCMP
Pastor Mahika Josephat. This is my own experience on CCMP!
As a pastor of Rwesororo Baptist Church I’m married to one wife with 8 Children. I have served as a pastor for nearly 20yrs and I’m approaching my retirement age in Church Service. For these years I’ve served at 4 different churches, this present one being the 5th. Back to CCMP, As a pastor, for all the time past I strongly believed I was doing good work for the Lord, but today after the trainings Iam passing through, I’m wondering how i should go back to those other churches to envision them and to let them have a vision and show them the desired Church. “I’m in tears not knowing how to start and where to end….” Says Pastor Mahika Josephat
Today I’m a transformed pastor, I’ve learned what is envisioning, and I’ve known to describe the present and the desired Church. I’ve truly known through CCMP that there are “several churches with many so called powerful, anointed leaders but they are operating in darkness, not knowing where they are heading”.
I came to know about CCMP, when Kayanja Benon came to Kasese with a desire to meet with Church leaders of different dominations. By God’s Grace and His great Marcy, I was chosen to be among the lucky ones to come for the training. The training became so good and touching, I loved it for my holistic transformation. Truly God has made it and this transformation is passing on to the local Church and it is being realized. My life is truly changed, and this is what I wish the Church to be and not only the Church but also the community.
The impact of the trainings, touched one member of our local Church to buy 10 hens which we distributed to 10 different homes whereby 5 homes were none members of the Church. They wonderfully appreciated the act.
My future plans, as a transformed pastor, I’ve realized I have preached the Word of God to millions of people but without the emphasis of GOD’s purpose for HIS creation and the place of the Church in the fulfilment of that purpose. It needs more emphasis and we are the people God has called to facilitate it to the Church to understand that it’s her duty to reveal to the world, the sweetness of God, His forgiveness, His Marcy etc hence the Church pouring her saltines and the light to the world.
So in my future plans, i will do my best to visit Churches I pastored before my transformation to bring this good news of Holistic Transformation using CCMP. To this point I have also been trained on resource mobilization and I will do my best to make my home, a home of reference, starting from the very little I have. I will not be selfish but also talk to the Church and even to the community. I will emphasize on holistic transformation, for myself, the Church and the community.
Glory to God for this training and for God allowing to be part of it in my generation.

UPDATE OF THE 2025 TREE COUNTING
Okwera Patrick
of Paicho Sub-county
Introduction
The tree counting took place successfully and we experienced some changes in the number of trees with some few farmers. A number of farmers kept their trees well and are growing successfully, others are planning to plant more trees this year. Generally, the tree diameters and heights increased in all the trees and in all the species.
Okwera Patrick of Paicho Sub-county participated in the previous project and he planted over 600 Malina trees which are all growing so well.
He planned to grow addition 400 Malina trees so that he has 1000 trees in total. He mentioned that we would love to integrate FRUIT TREES SUCH AS Jack fruits, avocado, oranges and others in his garden.
Many other youth are now copying and duplicating what he has done in that area.
Praises and prayer requests.
- Pray that the seedlings will be well raise and received by the farmers who will carefully plan all the seedlings and care for them
- Pray that all the planned activities are completed successfully
- Pary for abundant rain so that the trees grow with ease.
Getrice’s Journey to Overcoming GBV
Restoring Hope
Getrice a mother of three boys married to Baluku Paul a teacher was left in the house with the children for two years without any support. The spouse went and started living with another woman who he married later. Getrice suffered emotional violence from the spouse, the family and the community who labled her a prostitute and responsible for the challenges she is going through. In the two years she also suffered economic violence where all she had in the house was sold to pay loan which she acquired during her stay with the spouse.
This made Getrice to sleep out of her house in fear of being arrested for the loan but also borrowing food staff for the children to eat in the nearby shops. The children dropped out of school for one year due to lack of school fees.
Thank God when JLH started their intervention on GBV in Kasese in August brought a smile in Gertice face when she was handed over to JLH for case management, she was emotionally and spiritually supported, materially supported with food, and paid off her dates for the loan and the food which had accumulated to about 4,500,000sh.
The spouse was also talked to and now able to pay at least one child to school.
JLH is fundraising for resources to support Getrice and other girls who are survivors of GBV in Kasese.
Praises and prayer requests.
Kasese in this month of March has registered over 4 death and 2 fatal injuries due to Gender Based Violence. The women and men are equally killing one another and we call all stakeholders to speak-out about GBV in Kasese. Pray that the word of God will be preached to the families facing GBV and that everyone will believe in God to end GBV in Kasese.
The Success of Smart Farming
Mr. Okello Robert’s Journey
Mr. Okello Robert, a 42-year-old pastor at Langol Baptist Church, is a man of faith and resilience. He is a devoted husband and father, blessed with five children and two foster children—four boys and three girls. His journey is an inspiring example of hard work, faith, and the power of smart farming.
Mr. Okello’s success story began with a small but strategic investment in agriculture. He planted watermelon, cabbage, and groundnuts in different portions of his land and reaped remarkable rewards. Here’s a breakdown of his achievements:
- Watermelon: Planted 500 grams of watermelon seeds on a 1-acre garden and harvested a total of 3,000,000 UGX (three million shillings).
- Cabbage: Planted 500 grams of cabbage seeds on a 0.5-acre plot and earned 1,500,000 UGX (one million five hundred thousand shillings).
- Groundnuts: Planted one bag of groundnuts on a 1-acre plot and harvested 13 bags, selling 11 bags for a total of 1,320,000 UGX (one million three hundred and twenty thousand shillings).
In total, Mr. Okello Robert earned 5,820,000 UGX (five million eight hundred and twenty thousand shillings) from his farming ventures.
Mr. Okello wisely invested this money to improve his family’s quality of life. He completed the construction of his two-room house and purchased essential household items, including a radio, TV set, DStv, a sofa set, and a solar panel. He also reinvested part of the money into expanding his farming operations.
Today, Mr. Okello is cultivating even more crops, including:
- 1.5 acres of rice
- 2 acres of maize
- 1.5 acres of groundnuts
- 1 acre of watermelon
His story is a testament to the power of faith, dedication, and smart agricultural practices. Through his hard work and vision, Mr. Okello Robert is building a brighter future for his family and expanding his impact in the community.
