Justice Livelihoods Health Uganda

Justice Livelihoods Health is an indigenous registered Non-Governmental Organization in Uganda formed to see the lives of poor and disadvantaged communities transformed from poverty to opportunity, from inequality to justice, and from despair to hope.

JLH works in close partnership with local churches and Christian organizations toward fulfilling its justice, livelihoods, and health mandate.

Our focus is not only on short-term support, but on sustainable, community-owned transformation that restores dignity and builds resilience.

The History of JLH

The year 2015 is marked as the first full year of JLH’s operations in Uganda. JLH observed that many people were living in abject poverty, with limited health facilities, poor access to education, few opportunities to improve their lives, and unjust systems marked by imbalances of power.

JLH was therefore formed as an indigenous organization to help ensure that the next generation will be different.

JLH seeks to be part of a global network of partners striving to deliver long-term solutions to poverty.

Committed to lasting change

JLH works to improve the lives of disadvantaged communities through sustainable solutions. The organization pursues a holistic approach to sustainable improvement in the lives of poor and disadvantaged people in target locations, particularly those affected by conflict and insecurity.

Our work is shaped by the belief that transformation must address spiritual, social, economic, health, justice, and community wellbeing needs together.

Our mandate connects justice, livelihoods, and health so that communities can move toward hope, dignity, and opportunity.

A growing vision for wider national impact

JLH is currently working in Northern and Western Uganda, with a critical focus to widen this work toward full national coverage.

As JLH grows, the organization continues strengthening local leadership, community participation, partnerships, safeguarding systems, sustainable livelihoods, and integrated services that support vulnerable people.

The goal is to see communities equipped not only to overcome present challenges, but also to build resilient futures for generations to come.
